The Dong Van Karst Plateau (Ha Giang) - now part of Tuyen Quang province - is a limestone mountainous region located at an altitude of 1,200 - 1,600m, with a harsh climate and unique topography. It was recognized by UNESCO as Vietnam's first Global Geopark.

Over 2,800 bee colonies of Tinh Hoa Viet are protected and preserved under the supervision of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ha Giang province.
